Dr Umi Kalthum Md Noh is currently a Consultant Ophthalmologist, Cornea and Refractive Surgeon in Sunway Medical Centre.
She graduated from Trinity College Dublin with Honours and was conferred as a Scholar of the Institution.
She started off her career in St James’s Hospital, Ireland and Waikato Hospital, New Zealand before pursuing her Master in Ophthalmology in the National University of Malaysia where she was appointed as Associate Professor in Opthalmology. She worked as a specialist in various specialities including Cornea and External Eye Diseases under Dr Then Kong Yong.
She pursued her career as a Fellow in Cornea in University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada where she learned various techniques of Corneal Transplants from Professor Simon Holland and Professor Martin McCarthy. She continued her interest in Laser and Refractive Surgery under Dr Rupal Shah in Vadodara and Mumbai, India and had training in London Vision Clinic and Singapore National Eye Centre polishing her interest in Laser Vision Correction (LASIK, SMILE & Presbiopia Correction).
She has won several awards and research grants and has publications in various Ophthalmology journals. She had also presented both locally and internationally including the APAO, the EUCORNEA and American Academy of Ophthalmology, Las Vegas, USA.
