Professor Shatriah is the President of the College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, and a council member of the Malaysian Medical Council. She is a Fellow of both the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and the Academy of Medicine of Singapore. Prof Shatriah is currently the Deputy Director, Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia, and also the Chief Examiner for the Certificate of Completion in Specialist Training (Ophthalmology) and a member of the Malaysian Universities Conjoint Committee of Ophthalmology. She also serves on the editorial board of the Malaysian Medical Journal.
