Dr. Sabrina is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA with over a decade of teaching experience in optometry. She earned her Bachelor of Optometry from IIUM and later pursued her master’s at The University of New South Wales, Australia. After working as an academic at MSU, she completed her PhD at The University of Manchester, focusing on visual perception in autism.

During her PhD, she actively supported autistic individuals through NGOs and was a member of the National Autistic Society (UK) and INSAR. She is certified to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) for research, which is one of the gold-standard to assess and confirm autism diagnosis. Her research focuses on vision in children and special populations, including autism and dyslexia.

Apart from teaching pediatric optometry for undergraduates, she is also involved in clinical supervision at the pediatric optometry clinic at UiTM and leads several postgraduate projects on dyslexia, autism, and ADHD. Passionate about vision research in special populations, she is also actively involved in giving talks to the public about vision in special needs children, aiming to raise awareness and advocate for equal access to eye care services in Malaysia.
