Dr Nor Ismarudi Ismail is a vitreoretinal surgeon with over 10 years of experience in the field. He received his medical degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and completed his Master in Ophthalmology at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. His journey into vitreoretinal surgery began during his fellowship at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru and Hospital Selayang, where he had the opportunity to work alongside some of the leading experts in retinal diseases. He then pursued his fellowship attachment at Augenklinik, Ludwig Maximillians University, Munich, Germany and Oculistica Sacco, Ospedale Luigo Sacco, University of Milan, Italy. Currently, he is working as the Head of Vitreoretinal Service in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang with Ministry of Health, Malaysia.

Throughout his career, he focused on treating complex retinal conditions, particularly those involving advanced diabetic eye disease and retinal detachment. His research interests lie in improving surgical outcomes and exploring novel therapies for retinal diseases. In addition to his clinical and research work, he had the privilege of teaching and mentoring future surgeons, with a particular emphasis on enhancing their skills in retina surgery.
