Assistant Prof. Dr. Muhd Syafi Bin Abd Bari is an Ophthalmologist and Medical Lecturer at the Kulliyyah of Medicine, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He obtained his Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and currently pursuing his specialty in Refractive Surgery at IIUM.
Dr. Syafi specializes in ophthalmology, focusing on lens and laser refractive surgery. He is actively involved in clinical research and publications in this field. He has been a speaker at regional and national conferences, including the National Ocular Biometry Course (NOBC), and Review of 100 Topography Maps Course (OTMC), and a few others. He also serves as a phacoemulsification cataract surgery trainer.
Beyond academia, Dr. Syafi is deeply committed to medical education, actively training both undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition to his academic contributions, he is passionate about public health, delivering educational talks and participating in eye screening programs. He has also published several articles in newspapers to further raise awareness of eye health and educate the public on common eye problems and their management.
