Dr Lim completed ophthalmology specialist training and was conferred Masters in Medicine (Ophthalmology) (Singapore), and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ophthalmology) (FRCSE), Edinburgh. Subsequently, he completed his Fellowship in Vitreoretinal surgery at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, United Kingdom.
Dr Lim is currently working as a Vitreoretinal Surgeon in ISEC International Specialist Eye Centre, Kuala Lumpur. He has published numerous scientific articles in international medical journals and has presented at international ophthalmic meetings. He is a panelist in several consultative bodies in the Ministry of Health advising the government on health policies relating to ophthalmology. He is often invited as an Examiner for the exit certification of Vitreoretinal Surgeons in the Ministry of Health.
Dr Lim has special interest in penetrating eye injuries, long standing retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy. He has described innovative techniques to treat such diseases.
