Dr Evelyn Tai (MD, MMed, FRCOphth, CertLRS) is a lecturer with Universiti Sains Malaysia, where she completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies. During her studies, she received the ‘Best Student Award - Ophthalmology Posting’, ‘Best Student Award - Part I Conjoint Ophthalmology Examination’ and ‘Best Sportswoman Award’. Since completing her subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery, including a fellowship in UK, the bulk of her current practice involves patients with eyelid or lacrimal disorders. Her other professional activities include supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as regularly acting as examiner for the Malaysian Universities Conjoint Committee of Ophthalmology and The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. She serves on the editorial board of the Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences and BMC Ophthalmology and regularly reviews papers related to oculoplastic, lacrimal and refractive surgery.
