Mrs Diana Binti Mohamed is a senior optometrist with extensive expertise in pediatric optometry and advanced binocular vision. Currently serving as a Head of Optometry Unit at Hospital Queen Elizabeth I, Kota Kinabalu, she has dedicated over two decades to clinical practice, research, and public advocacy in eye health.
Mrs Diana holds a Master of Health Science in Clinical Optometry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and has undergone specialized training in visual therapy in Auckland, New Zealand. She has been instrumental in developing national policies and training programs, serving as a committee member for the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s Orthoptic and Binocular Vision Specialty Committee since 2012.
Beyond clinical practice, she actively contributes to research on refractive errors and visual impairment, presenting at both national and international conferences. As the President of the Malaysian Postgraduate Optometry Association (PPOM) and a committee member of the Malaysia Advocacy for Myopia Prevention Board (MAMP), she is committed to advancing myopia control strategies in Malaysia.
A passionate educator, she has served as an adjunct lecturer, external examiner, and columnist for The Malaysian Medical Gazette. Her continuous efforts in public awareness and policy advocacy aim to reduce myopia prevalence and improve eye health nationwide.
