Prof Dr Choo May May is a development committee member of the 2nd Ed of MOH Clinical Practice Guideline for the Management of Retinopathy of Prematurity that was launched on 11 Sept 2024. Having been part of the first CPG, she represented a continuation to the current committee. She is also a member of the inaugural committee on Myopia Advocacy Board of Malaysia (MAMP) which conducts public education and awareness of childhood myopia and how to prevent its progression. Her experience in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus started with subspeciality training at the Royal Alexandra Childrens Hospital in Sydney under the supervision of Prof Dr Frank Martin. A second stint under Prof Dr John Grigg at Childrens Hospital at Westmead in 2013-2014 focussed primarily on glaucoma and commenced collaborative research with Save Sight Institute and University of Malaya Eye Research Centre. This collaboration has resulted in invitation of Examiners to Masters Conjoint Exams from University of Sydney, adjunct lecturers, subspeciality training of fellows and independent assessors as well as on-going research in Retinopathy of Prematurity. She has been invited to lecture in various national and international meetings including at AAPOS meetings, ASPSOS and APAO conferences since 2009.
