Dr. Barkeh graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and completed her postgraduate studies in Ophthalmology from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Malaysia. She was awarded Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Master in Medicine (Ophthalmology) from the National University of Singapore in 2001.
Dr. Barkeh’s clinical skills were further fine-tuned when she was awarded a one-year fellowship in the Surgical and Medical Retina Units at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia in 2002.
Currently, Dr. Barkeh is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon at the International Specialist Eye Centre (ISEC), Kuala Lumpur. She is also a Visiting Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon at Hospital Pakar PUSRAWI and Prince Court Medical Centre Kuala Lumpur.
Dr Barkeh is an avid teacher and she frequently speaks on medical retina conditions both locally and internationally.
